NF Winged

The geese are keeping the water in the middle of the pond open, while the edges freeze.

Queen Anne's Lace

I know the Queen Anne's lace 

 quit blooming a couple of months ago,

but I love the bird's nest effect of the seed heads,

 especially with frost.

NF Waters

Standing on the bank of the river, looking down at the ice,

 gives a very different view from kneeling on the ice. Yes, it is cold, and it takes a long time for my jeans to dry...

 Other years, I have been able to capture the bubbles through the various depths of the ice, but not this year.

Stream at Sunset

Standing on the road, looking down at the stream

 and admiring the reflection of the sunset.

Rusty Chain

I have no idea why this length of chain

 is hanging over the fence,

 but I capture it a couple of times a year, anyway...

 

Cattails

The cattails are starting to fluff.

 Most of them are waiting for the winter birds.

Rose Hips

There was still a bit of frost on the rose hips in the shade,

 but most of them were brilliant in the sun.

 I welcome colour

 wherever I can find it!

 

Today's Flowers

I seem to have a couple of confused violets every fall.

Two Cats

Husband captured the Gloria and Miss Kitty napping together.

Black Eyed Susan

I have visited the black eyed Susans

 a few times this month.

 The seed heads are almost as lovely as the blossoms.
