Goldenrod

Time for more flowers!!

This fall, I was noticing goldenrod galls.

They are made by some sort of fly, 

and there are wasps that prey on them, specifically.

There is often frost in the mornings these days.

It completely changes the look of the flowers.

My borage is still blooming! The killing frosts are very late this year, and the light frosts are simply looking beautiful...

We had first frost last week.

Cornfield in November

I was walking toward the cornfield,

and admiring how the sun worked its magic

on the dried leaves of the plants.

Not brown any longer, 

but golden.

Add the frost on the tassels of the corn,

and the sun coming trough the silk,

and you truly have magic...

Frosted Fleabane

I don't recall seeing fleabane this late in the year before.

I love the frost crystals on the delicate petals,

but the cheery yellow central florets still brighten the day.

First Frost

There was still frost on the leaves and flowers

in the shade

when we got to the rest stop last week.

Everyone else had to get snacks,

but I had to get images...

Black Eyed Susans in Winter

of black eyed Susans in winter.
