Golden Morning

On a misty morning,

with the sun just over the horizon,

you can find gold...

I get back tomorrow!!

 

Datura

There were several datura plants blossoming at the college.

I was early enough to catch the dew on some of them.

I find the most fascinating thing about these flowers is the way they unfurl.

The curves are just so beautiful.

Frost

 We continue to have frosty mornings,

 which find me crawling around on the ground

  capturing the tiny crystals

before they melt to dewdrops.

I found this feather in the grass on a sunny morning.

The foggy mornings are wonderful for creating dew

 on everything that has been out all night.

 That includes all the flowers that are still blooming.

Frozen Chicory Blossoms

Normally, chicory blossoms fade before the sun, but the days have become so short that they are staying open all night, and collecting dew and frost.

Another foggy morning, with the dew

 settled heavily on the branches of the sweet clover,

 which is still blooming,

for some reason known only to itself...

The sun rose over the houses,

 and cast its golden light 

 over the fog

 and the dew.

While I was looking for spiderwebs,

 I found a dragonfly, covered in dew,

 waiting for the sun to warm it.

The wild grapes are starting to ripen.

 I love them, just kissed with the dew.

Annie is a scruffy little thing, so she gathers a lot of dewdrops on our walks.
