Red Clover

The red clover is still blooming,
but it had a little extra this morning - frost!

Butterfly

We had a brisk wind last week, and I noticed a leaf behaving in a most unleaf-like manner.
When it settled in the grass, I realized it was a butterfly.
It must have been exhausted, fighting that wind,
so it stayed still while I took photos, then left it to rest.

Friday's Fences

I love the way the morning light shows up the lichen on the fence post.

Skywatch Friday

These shots are SOOC because I wanted to show them to you.
Contrails at dawn, looking to the east, and the west.

Red Clover

We will be having frost soon, a month late, so I am enjoying all the flowers that are still showing colour!

Bench

Taking a different route home, I found this interesting bench.

Rocks

I noticed a heart shaped rock in a garden around a tree.
And this granite boulder is in front of a church.

Shadows

I am still exploring the walking sentinels, and I found one with wild grape vines climbing its legs.
The square corners of the structure do strange things to the shadows.

Trees and Clouds

I like this tree, almost bare, with the morning clouds behind it.

Wild Asters

The wild asters beside the pond have gone to seed.

Watery Wednesday

Hydro pylons reflected in puddles make interesting patterns, especially when the puddles reflect the sunrise.

Look Up, Look 'Way Up

I was right under the hydro pylons
 looking straight up
into the morning sky, and thinking of childhood TV.
Do you remember The Friendly Giant?

Cloudy Reflections

Doesn't everyone lean over the side of the bridge,
to see what is in the water?
This time of year, it tends to be clouds.

Milkweed Leaves

I was looking at the milkweed leaves
and seeing the beauty in their scars.
Maybe no one has to be perfect in order to be beautiful...

Bouquet of Jerusalem Artichokes

I was taking this spent bouquet of Jerusalem artichokes
out to the compost bin, when I realized there was still some beauty left in it.
I stopped for a photo shoot on the way to the compost.
