Foxtail Lilies

I have posted photos of the white foxtail lilies before,

 but the yellow ones have only started blooming.

They are much shorter than the whites.

Reflections with Goldenrod

The clouds and contrails are reflected almost perfectly in the still water.

Contrail

We have had about 50 mm of rain in the last few days (usually only get about 32 in the whole month of December), so I have had my nose buried in a couple of books, rather than taking any photos. I am hoping tomorrow will be sunny, so I can remedy the situation

I have been collecting sunsets this week.

 Seems like everything else has had the colour

 washed right out of it.

Reflections of Contrails

This morning, I was caught by the reflections of the contrails

 in the morning pond.

 I love the way the ripples made the straight lines waver.

 At the smaller end of the pond, ice had formed along the edges of the water.
