Trees and Flowers and Bees

I am attempting to file my photos
 and I found this series
from sometime in the spring.
A welcome reminder that the seasons will change again.

Ice in the Morning

I used to think that ice was flat,
  but it's not, really.

Watery Wednesday

This stream has many faces,
 gravel bottom or large rocks,
and lots of leaves piling against the rocks.

Pampas Grass

Pampas grass looks okay against the morning sky,
but it really comes into its glory
with the sun shining on it.
It grows so tall
that it is easy to use the sky
 as a background.

Shadows

I may have forgotten what sunshine looks like,
but these shadows on a board fence
 prove that it exists.

Frost on the Asters

The frost crystals formed on the spent asters,
and sparkled in the dawn light.

Red Berries

I have no idea what sort of a shrub this is,
but the berries are so pretty,
especially when wearing hats of fluffy snow.
The fall leaves were beautiful, too, before they fell.

First Snow

We had the first snow of the winter,
and it settled quietly on all the plants.

Milkweed with Frost

You can see the sun rising,
just looking at the milkweed pods.

Skywatch Friday

Last month, I showed you some of the metal banners lining a road near here.
Here is a selection from the other side of the road.

Christmas Cactus

My Christmas cactus is blooming,
a very welcome change from the gray skies.
I love the colour of these blossoms,
but also the shape
 and texture.
