Flowering Rush

This is the other flower I found on my trip to the river. A couple of feet tall, it was in the silty area near the water lilies, but above the normal water level.
Anyone know what it might be?
Many thanks to  Tessa Leonie for identifying this as Butomus umbellatus or flowering rush.

The center is very "lily" like but the leaves not so much!

I think it is Butomus umbellatus, in Dutch we call it a swan flower. I have it growing on the waters edge at the allotment. It is really pretty and lasts quite long.
