This comes at a good time for me, Judy--I can direct my students to this post as an example of Gothic Revival architecture on this side of the pond. Thanks!
Thanks for filling me in on the history, Judy. It's rather interesting that it took a fire to generate the architecture--sort of like Chicago, in a way, but more like London. It took a fire to build the new Palaces of Westminster in Gothic style, too.
I love the paths Skywatch Friday leads us down . . .

What a gorgeous building! Was this photo taken in the summer, or does it just look warm?

Thanks. I am glad you read it that way! I think your header is most impressive - I am very fond of lilac!
Impressive is right! Loved it!
Great choice for Skywatch Judy. What a beautiful building!
I like your new header:)
Great neo-gothic building. Many town halls in the UK look like this, especially the Manchester Town Hall (although it's probably much smaller).
Beautiful building and what a crisp blue sky!
Beautiful building and beautiful blue sky!
Wonderful architecture, beautiful blue sky. I also got the impression that it was warm when these photos were taken. Sigh.
A very impressive building. The main tower really stands out against that gorgeous blue sky. I love the perspective on your last photo.
Judy
Such a majestic looking building with that perfect blue sky background! Great photos!
What a beautiful blue sky above this very impressive building.
