Walk in the Dog Park

Annie is showing what the surface was like. Not too bad, if you walk slowly, when you only have two legs. I saw a man with two ski poles, and all I could think was "I want one!!"

The angle of the sun was making some beautiful shadows!

A tree fell during the winter, and the fungus is no longer parallel to the ground.

Jake, after his first burst of energy had worn off.

Another tree that fell, but this one was over a path, so they have used a chainsaw to cut it into more manageable sections. I like the way you can see the way the sap only travels in the outer rings of the tree. Before freezing in the cold weather.

Birch catkins.

What a nice walk in the dog park Judy! The light on the snow is so beautiful, and the colours gorgeous! That pine tree!
From the birch catkins I would say that spring is coming slowly! Hopefully :)
Have a nice weekend!

The first weekend we had our puppies (five years ago), it snowed like crazy, which is unusual for north Texas, even in February. But now every time it snows they turn into infants again. Your Annie reminds me of our Arlo (border collie/basset mix), who tiptoes around on anything white--at least until he gets used to it, and then he romps. Thanks for stopping by on my "farm"--it looks like we've got some things in common.

You're right about the shadows. Love the close-up of the chainsaw cut.

Lovely pictures again. especially the fungus and the birch catkins. How amazingly blue that sky is. Annie is so cute. Just my kind of dog. Jake then is very elegant.

I took a picture of bark the other day, the same kind of tree as your 3rd picture. I like the way it peels off. I like the fungus picture too and the sap one is neat.

I enjoyed your pics of the dogs and nature. I also liked your SkyWatch and weeping willow posts.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Heidi loves hanging out outside.
