Today's Flowers

The wild asters are blooming.

I like the remnants of the raindrops in the morning sun.

The Queen Anne's lace is still in shadow against the morning waters.

The temperature was only slightly above freezing this morning,

 so there was mist rising off the river.

The sun is rising behind the clouds

so the colours are muted,

even when they are reflected in the water.

Goldenrod

There is still some goldenrod 

 blooming in the fields,

 but most of it is going to seed.

The trees are starting to turn, and the early morning light creates such wonderful shadows!

Unknown Seedheads

I still have no idea what flower these belong to, but I love the shape.

And that is raindrops, not frost, in the first couple of photos!

Milkweed Seeds

The milkweed pods are starting to burst,

and release their seeds.

Wild Grapes

The wild grapes are ripe,

and ready for the picking.

I used to make jelly from them, but it has been a few years now.

Light on the Water

I was fascinated with

the early sun reflecting off the ripples of the Carp River.

Morning Glory

The morning glories are still blooming in my garden.

I like the shadow of the borage bud on the last blossom.
