Goldenrod

Time for more flowers!!

This fall, I was noticing goldenrod galls.

They are made by some sort of fly, 

and there are wasps that prey on them, specifically.

Goldenrod and Snow

On an afternoon walk, I found a small goldenrod plant poking its head out of the snow.

I am away for a few days, but I have left photos for you.



 

First Frost

Now that it is autumn,

the temperatures are dropping.

 We have had first frost,

 maybe even a little late this year.

 There are still some blossoms,

 but the plants will be getting ready for winter,

 and scattering their seeds.
