Spiderweb after Irene

On Sunday, we got just the western edge of the hurricane, so lots of wind.

 I wonder whether the spider cleaned up her web, or just made a new one.

Seeds

This parachute seed was also caught amongst the seeds, and I caught it both at rest and in motion.

This feather was caught amongst the seeds, 

 and I photographed it over the course of several days.

 

Through a Spiderweb

Sometimes, I cannot get the camera to focus on the spiderweb, but I have never gotten such clear photos through the web!

 This is my favourite - Annie, caught in the spiderweb!

Water Lily

Water lilies are usually too far from shore for me to get decent photos,

 but these are not too bad.

 

Bur Cucumber

I like the backlighting on this cluster of flowers,

 and the developing seed pods.

 And I love the contrast between the curling tendrils of the plant, and the rusty steel bridge it was climbing.

 

Cherrypicker

This machine was standing in the back of a commercial yard with other similar things. I have no idea why it was reaching for the clouds...

 

Sunflower Family

These members of the sunflower family (there are at least 20, according to my book)

are certainly reaching for the sun.

 

Skywatch Friday

The moon has been visible during the day this week.

 It has even been playing with some gulls.

Green Heron

This green heron thought he was far enough away from me to be safe. He is almost too far away for my little camera, too.

 

Reflections with Goldenrod

The clouds and contrails are reflected almost perfectly in the still water.

 

Stairs

These stairs have been around for a long time.

 

Raindrops

A couple of trees are starting to change colour

 and drop their leaves already.

 I love the way the raindrops act as magnifying glasses...

Bur Cucumber

The bur cucmbers are still flowering madly, but they are starting to set fruit.

 The larger one is nearly an inch long now, and will perhaps double in size before it quits for the year. The fruits are not edible, but will make good Christmas decorations after most of the fibre is gone.

Cosmos Flowers

I nipped into the neighbour's yard to get some photos of their cosmos flowers.

 

The Moon

I love it when the moon is out during the day

 and I can get photos like this.

It looks good even when partially obscured by the clouds.
