Rocks

I noticed a heart shaped rock in a garden around a tree.
And this granite boulder is in front of a church.

Shadows

I am still exploring the walking sentinels, and I found one with wild grape vines climbing its legs.
The square corners of the structure do strange things to the shadows.

Trees and Clouds

I like this tree, almost bare, with the morning clouds behind it.

Wild Asters

The wild asters beside the pond have gone to seed.

Watery Wednesday

Hydro pylons reflected in puddles make interesting patterns, especially when the puddles reflect the sunrise.

Look Up, Look 'Way Up

I was right under the hydro pylons
 looking straight up
into the morning sky, and thinking of childhood TV.
Do you remember The Friendly Giant?

Cloudy Reflections

Doesn't everyone lean over the side of the bridge,
to see what is in the water?
This time of year, it tends to be clouds.

Milkweed Leaves

I was looking at the milkweed leaves
and seeing the beauty in their scars.
Maybe no one has to be perfect in order to be beautiful...

Bouquet of Jerusalem Artichokes

I was taking this spent bouquet of Jerusalem artichokes
out to the compost bin, when I realized there was still some beauty left in it.
I stopped for a photo shoot on the way to the compost.

Borage Flowers

My borage plants are still blooming!
Usually, we have had a hard frost before October, and they are all dead.

Rusty Chain

While I was looking at fence posts, I found this rusty chain nailed to one.

Contrails

Watching the clouds and the contrails again.

Butter and Eggs

I am going to have to apologize to everyone for calling this toadflax.
Toadflax flowers are very similar, but nearly twice as large.
My mother has always called this railway grass, a name which I never thought suited
this sprightly little flower.
So I shall have to train myself to call it butter and eggs from now on...
The orange patch is the honey guide, and moths will attempt to reach it, even if the blossom is between plates of glass, or if the honey guide has been cut out and pasted to other species.

Tree Trunks in the Golden Morning Light

Friday's Fences

This is a new meme I have found. For my first entry, I am posting these oregano blossoms framed in the spaces of the fence.
