Why do paths look so much more interesting in the fog?

The pond is just to the right of the spruce trees.

First Snow

We had the first snow of the winter,

Moon in the Water

I have been exploring this idea for about a year. There are so few days when the moon is near enough the horizon that the water catches the reflection, that it is a slow process.

I need a certain amount of movement in the water, or the moon just looks as though it is in the sky.
