Maple Tree

This maple tree had lost most of its leaves when the sunlight caught it one afternoon, last month...

Apples

While I was in Woodstock, I found an apple tree right beside the bridge,

so I could get close to the apples.

That was much more fun

than aiming straight up into the tree...

Catalpa

The catalpa trees are blooming,

and photographing them is a good excuse to stand and inhale the fragrance.

I love the ruffly edges of the blossoms!

Today's Flowers

I am going to have to label all the trees, 

once they are in leaf and I can identify them.

That way, I will know what they are,

when they bloom next spring...

Tree

This tree is about two thirds of the way between my parents' house and the hospital where my father has been since January.

I love the lines of it, and take some photos every time I am there.

It's that time of year

 when you look up

 to see the leaves on the trees,

 and down to see the leaves on the ground.

The storm was being driven to the east when the sun appeared below the clouds in the west.

 a long time ago.

 Long enough that the tree is growing around the wire.

A Woodpecker?

I had to check out this tree, see what caused all the wood chips.

 I have no idea what created these holes,

 but it must have taken a lot of time.
