Some of the raspberries blossomed so late the berries could not develop before the temperatures dropped. I left them on the canes, so they could catch the snow like this.

The sun was rising behind the heavy clouds, but on this side of them, there was a scattering of snow, and a bitter wind. Parts of this fence are covered with the remains of raspberry canes.

My raspberries are ready, at least. I cut the canes down every fall, as it seems to encourage more berries to set, but they are later in the year than when you let the canes overwinter.
