Icicles at Dawn

The icicles on the front of the house look so different in the early morning light!
I am sharing them with Friday Finds even if this is Monday...

Icicles

Whether it is official or not,
winter is here, along with the white stuff and the icicles.
The temperatures are only around freezing,
so I was able to catch some falling drops...

Icicles

While I was admiring the icicles on the eaves,
I noticed that the ice had dripped onto one of the stems of sweet Cecily

and formed an interesting creation.
I am supposed to be home now, but give me a chance to get the photos edited, please...

Snowstorm Part 2

The snow is coming down more slowly now,
but it is still wet and heavy.
There were crashes all morning, as the branches dropped their loads.
I took the dogs for a walk this morning,
but that is about all I have been able to do today...

Watery Wednesday

More icicles, but these are so much more impressive!
I like to get close and look up at them, but I can never get directly underneath them...

Icicles

These tiny icicles are right against the curb, where the sun's rays strike the snow that has been moved off the parking lot, causing the snow to melt, and freeze again at night.

Friday's Fences

Icicles formed on parts of the wooden fence,
where there had been enough rain to run.
Mostly, the rain simply froze on the topside of everything.

Watery Wednesday

The temperatures were above freezing, and these icicles at the library were melting.
Water was running steadily off the longest one, but the others were dripping,
so I captured some of the droplets.

Moon and Icicles

Yes, I know the quality is terrible, but that is what happens when the tripod is at home, and you are just leaving work.
I still love the captures...

Watery Wednesday

There are a lot of icicles on the old barn.
It is hard to capture both the sunlit icicle and the shadowed wood.
I like the light refracted through the ice and cast onto the barn,
and the shapes the icicles take, following the brances.

Watery Wednesday

The advantage of going to the early service at church, is seeing the icicles before someone knocks them down in the name of safety.

Icicles

We had a sunny day this week, and I love the way the sun shone through the icicles on the neighbour's roof.
I was not going to stand quite directly under them, even if it was very cold.

Skywatch Friday

We have been having a lot of gray weather, so I was pleased to have a sunny day and some icicles to capture.

Snow and Ice

Well, I don't know about you, but I have nearly had it with this heat wave.

I have been visiting my photos from last winter,

trying to cool down.

I don't think it is working too well...
