Amaranth

Another plant at the Algonquin College gardens is amaranth.
I had not seen the brown or the white varieties before.

The plants can be six feet tall, and often need staking, due to the weight of the flowers.

The drooping flowers are also known as love lies bleeding.

Cool. I especially like the brown ones. At first they look dead, but when you look closer they aren't. I think that's just neat

Love lies bleeding is elegant in the garden if you find the right place for it. Maybe I'll plant some next year. ;-)
