I agree with you -- 'ragged' forsythia are much more pleasing than the trimmed bushes. Your photos are gorgeous.
I've never seen them before they are so pretty

Oh Judy what a beauty it is. Still considering one for the cottage very much. Space is an issue but perhaps I just have to dig up a new border somewhere.
Is it really 10 feet tall? I don't remember it being significantly taller than I am... but maybe I suppose it has kept growing, since I haven't been home in the summer for a while. I like the close up shot of the flowers. They're such a nice colour

The forsythia is gorgeous!
I can't get forsythia to bloom reliably in my yard. My one surviving bush blooms only at the bottom. The rest skips the yellow and starts with green leaves,
