Amaryllis

I only got a few images of the amaryllis before it faded away...

4 AM Ponderings

Jake needed to go out about 4 this morning (remember he is an old man, and doesn't last the night any more), so, as I was lying in bed trying to go back to sleep, I was trying to decide whether, if I used a horse shoe as a frame, I would be better off using a photo of the horse's head, or its foot... No idea where that came from.

Friday, I wrote my first final exam. The last one will be a week from tomorrow. Then I will have five weeks about the computer program and working in an office environment, and my two weeks of practical, and I will be done my course.

My Christmas cactus and my amaryllis are both blooming. Guess what you will see tomorrow...

Raspberries

The birds and I did not get all the raspberries
before the temperature dropped.
So I am gathering them now, but not for eating...

Blue Eyes

This little beauty is called Blue Eyes.
It is at the college gardens. I wasn't too impressed with it last year, but this past summer, it had filled in, and made quite a statement.
I wonder how long it blooms...

Winter Sunset

It has been much too cold to go for a long walk, so I have not been taking many photos. For this one, I just had to open the front door...

Family Photos

My Mom and myself and my sisters. I am the one standing, with the white shirt.
And part of the table, with me in front of the bookcase.
Only one of the great grandchildren came (rather than watch her brother's hockey game), and none of the grandchildren. They are all visiting her separately this year.

Rainbow

There was a rainbow, so I opened the front door, and quickly captured it, before letting all the warm air out.
I am going to see my Mom, and will be back on Monday afternoon.

Hatpin

Another thing I dragged home from my Dad's basement. He had a bottle of hatpins, and I have aimed the camera at them a number of times, but this is the first image I have liked enough to share.
I still haven't cleaned them - it has only been seven months, and I kind of like the texture the years of grime add...

Apology

I want to apologize for abandoning you,
but I was so close to burn-out that I did not have anything to give.
But three days of no school (yes, I have homework, but not till the end of this week), I am feeling human again.
I captured this nepeta blossom the first week of November.

Old Photos

I found this family grouping while I was scanning photos yesterday. It was taken in 1926. Most of the photos from that time period are not dated.
My Mom is the little girl, and her brother. The ladies are a couple of great aunts, my grandmother, and great grandmother.

Cornfield in November

I was walking toward the cornfield,
and admiring how the sun worked its magic
on the dried leaves of the plants.
Not brown any longer,
but golden.
Add the frost on the tassels of the corn,
and the sun coming trough the silk,
and you truly have magic...
I am linking with Today's Flowers, so drop in for a visit.
