I forget what sort of a geranium this is,

but the flowers are so bright and cheery!!!

Everyone sees the showy petals of the geranium,

 but how many people look at the heart of the blossom?

I spent a couple of days with my parents, and I captured these geranium flowers one afternoon,

 when the sun was streaming through the window.

 

Today's Flowers

The spring flower show at Algonquin College has been and gone, and I have lots of photos to share with you.

 These are Martha Washington, or ivy leaved, geraniums.

Sunlight and Leaves

I love the sunlight shining through leaves - any sort of leaves -

 these are both violet leaves.

 And maple, and a frost covered geranium from early this morning.

Frost

There is frost at least one morning a week now,

decorating the leaves and the flowers.

Scented Geraniums

Another of my scented geraniums is blooming. This is the strawberry scented. I took these photos after the rain on Sunday.

With scented geraniums, the leaves are the fragrant part of the plant, much sweeter than the leaves of regular geraniums.

The nutmeg scented geranium bloomed a couple of weeks ago.

One of my geraniums is blooming. Such a cheerful colour for the end of January!
