Icicles

Whether it is official or not,
winter is here, along with the white stuff and the icicles.
The temperatures are only around freezing,
so I was able to catch some falling drops...

January Lilacs

We had our first real storm of the winter on Friday - 
 about 6 inches of snow.
 Then the temperatures dropped to something near 30 below freezing.
 It might be pretty out there, but our walks are short, and Jake says they are still too long. He wants indoor plumbing.

There are a dozen sorts of goldenrod, and at least two of them live around here,

Watery Wednesday

 Where you have waves in winter, you have icicles.
 A wonderful combination.
 What fascinated me,
 was the sand trapped in the ice.

Snow on the Mint

After a day of romance, let's get back to reality.
 We only had about six inches of snow over the weekend, so the mint at the border of the garden is still peeking out.
