My sister's amaryllis is blooming.

The grocery store has lots of amaryllises blooming,

 mostly these red and white striped ones,

 but occasionally other colours.

This poor little dwarf is from a friend's place.

Last fall, I brought my four amaryllis plants indoors, and put them in the basement, so they could bloom again. Well, one of them finally did. The first shot is taken with flash, and the second without. Which do you like better?

I took Lady Jane outside for a few minutes, and I was surprised at the difference in her colour.

so I can finally take photos of the Lady Jane

with the light streaming through her petals!

My second amaryllis is starting to bloom.

This is the first of at least five blossoms.

I bought a new amaryllis, called Apple Blossom,

and it is blooming well.

I love the pink edging on the flower,

and the way the petals seem to sparkle as they reflect the flash!
