Frosted Fleabane

I don't recall seeing fleabane this late in the year before.
I love the frost crystals on the delicate petals,
but the cheery yellow central florets still brighten the day.

Fleabane

This patch of fleabane fascinated me,
the way the sunlight flowed through the petals, and caught the spiderwebs.

Fleabane

The morning sun peeking through the clouds caught the fleabane, highlighting the petals.

Fleabane

Looking at these Azure Fairy Fleabane flowers in the gardens at Algonquin College,

I can see the similarity to the weeds, but these are MUCH larger, about 2 inches across.

Fleabane

This is a cultivated variety of the common weed fleabane, called Azure Fairy. The blossoms are easily three times as large as the wild variety, but otherwise the same.
