Cleome

I love cleome blossoms.

They are such an odd shape, and so vivacious.

I took a lot of photos of the cleome

 when I was at the college garden.

 It is such an odd looking flower,

 but this is the first I have actually looked

 at the shapes of the actual florets,

 and the way they open.

We went to Upper Canada Village, and got rained on,

but I got these lovely photos of cleome flowers covered with raindrops.

These shots are rather dark, because the rain was coming down more heavily, and I was on my way to shelter...

Husband laughed at me, for stopping to take the shots.

The summer garden plants are starting to bloom.

I found this cleome at the college.

There were others, but they were not doing as well as this one.
