Water in Its Many Guises

Overflow from a spring pond was flowing toward the river yesterday morning. For a couple of feet, it flowed under the grasses, and became exposed briefly, before hiding again. A fair amount of ice had formed overnight around that spot.

But what really fascinated me was the pile of frost crystals that had formed at the top of the slope.

There was so much that it looked like snow.

I heard on the radio that this is the first snow-free March in Ottawa, ever.

You are quite a bit colder there than we are. We are having a warm week. Wonderful photos of the frost crystals.
