to capture some of the ice formations.

Experiment on the Bus

I would really love for you all to comment on these images.

I took them from the bus, on the way to visit my Mom last week.

On this one, you can see a bit of reflection in the window.

I started taking them, envious of the beautiful lake and mist

on the other side of the road,

and decided to see what I ended up with.

I like some of the trees near the road, racing past,

while the background is in focus.

The bus windows are polarized, so the images are a bit dark...

I have deleted most of them, but these are the best of the lot.

Spy Rock, Westport

See that pinkish area of rock, near the top of the hill, just right of the willows?

That is Spy Rock, above the village of Westport, on the Rideau Canal.

Looking out from Spy Rock, you can see a wide range of the countryside.

There are five or six steeples in view from Spy Rock, surprising in a village this size.

 

Southside Park

I seldom walk this shore of the pond in Woodstock.

I was so impressed with the spring trees and their reflections, though.

I am linking this with NF Waters.

 

Foggy Morning

I love a foggy morning,

and the way everything fades into the greyness.

  Easier to forget just how close to home I am...

Spiderwebs

Wednesday was a lovely foggy morning,

 and the spiderwebs were all 

 covered with jewels of dew!

 The 75 captures in the field

 have boiled down to 30

 in the computer,

 but how to choose

only a few to share with you...

 

Misty Morning

Landscape in Blue and Grey

With my back to the sun,

 and the storm clouds approaching,

 the landscape was sombre.

 

Geese and Ice

The temperature never made it up to freezing yesterday,

 so the ice is building up quickly.

 The geese just have a small area in the pond for spending the nights.

 

Friday's Fences

Kanata is not exactly flat, but there are no natural hills for tobogganing for anyone over the age of three,

so the city constructed a hill, with fences, to keep the kids safe.

 Annie, Jake and I climbed the hill,

 admiring the fences and the view.
