Wild Grape Flowers
This is the first year that I have looked at the wild grape vines, and seen the flowers. They are very small, as you can tell by the size of the vine in this first photo.
Or by the raindrop in the third photo.
I am learning so much about the world around me.
Lady's Mantle
The common housefly on the lady's mantle gives you an idea of the size of the flowers.
Hibiscus
In the garden centre outside the grocery store,
there were half a dozen pots of hibiscus in bloom.

Ducklings
The ducklings are getting bigger,
but Mama is no less watchful.
Blue Bead Lily
This is another new wildflower, to me.
It is called the blue bead lily.
When the seedpods are ripe, according to the book, they will be bright blue.
Bleeding Hearts
I love it when flowers poke through fences, like this bleeding heart.
Or when they are backlit by the sun, like this one.
And I always love to explore them in macro!

One Last Daffodil
Okay, so it is really a pheasant eye narcissus, if you want to be precise.
But this is the only daffodil/jonquil/narcissus that I can identify, so they are all in a file labelled daff.
Skywatch Friday
The last of the tulips, looking up.
The shadows on the petals are interesting.
Freddy
My newest nephew, Freddy, is a soft coated wheaten terrier. He is about four or five months old now.

Iris
These are all full sized irises,
taken in various gardens while I was on my travels last week.
The buds are often different from the open blossoms.
This last shot is almost an abstract impression of irises.
Watery Wednesday
The branches of this maple were hanging over Cedar Creek, casting their reflections in the water.
The water is still muddy from spring runoff, but the reflections show the blue sky, too.
Flowering Almond
There were no goslings or cygnets this year,
so I have to use leaves in the foreground of my watery shots this week.
Magnolia Flowers
The magnolia tree is almost finished blooming.
But not quite!

Dandelion Seeds
I have always been fascinated with dandelion fluff,
and after dinner, I captured these in the low light of the setting sun. I like the strand of spidersilk here,
although the seedhead looks lovely without it, too.
And I love the way you can see the shape of the seeds as well.
