First Frost

There was still frost on the leaves and flowers

in the shade

when we got to the rest stop last week.

Everyone else had to get snacks,

but I had to get images...

Raspberry Leaves

I love the shape of new raspberry leaves,

 bright and unfolding.

Raspberry Leaves

Last month, the raspberry leaves were glowing

in the afternoon sun.

Raspberry Leaves in the Sun

Most of the leaves have left the branches,

but some, like these raspberry leaves, are hanging on.

I love the sun shining through,

and the frost crystals.

Frost on the Leaves

One thing about this time of year, the alarm goes off just before sunrise,

so I see a lot of frost on the ground (and the rooves, and the cars...)

As the sun rises, the frost starts to melt,

which can cause some interesting patterns on the leaves.
