Magnolia Blossoms

We walk past a magnolia tree on our walks
and it is in bloom now.
One of the oldest flowering plants,
the petals are much thicker than most flowers.

Skywatch Friday

The magnolia is fully in bloom now.
I've never been close enough to feel the texture of the petals before, and they are much thicker than other flowers.

Skywatch Friday

At the horticulture building at the college, I just discovered a large magnolia tree.
Did you know magnolias have been around since the time of the dinosaurs?
A lot of the plants are labelled, which helps me learn what I am capturing.
