Beetles

I have no idea what sort of a plant this is,
but more than half the flowers
 were covered with these beetles.

The flower looks like St. John's Wort but I've never seen beetles on the blooms here. That interesting the way they are all crowded together.

Beautiful blooms but we see far too many of these beetles on our roses and basil.

Very colorful beetle beauties. With my leg troubles, I haven't been able to get out in my yard for photos.

Those beetles are the scourge of my garden, they devour my rosebuds down to the stem. They just keep coming, like zombies. Japanese beetles. Nothing really kills them except collecting them in a cup of soapy water to drown them. As a rule, I don't kill anything that's alive, except these beetles and mosquitoes.
Lovely photos though. That flower is amazing.
The ones in the previous post are so lovely too. Sorry to hear about your allergic reaction - hope you're doing better now.
