Brugmansia

My neighbours put this houseplant out in their front yard before going away for a few days.

It is called a brugmansia, and gets to be about 5 feet tall.

The only other one I have seen was yellow, but I think I like this colour better.

This is certainly an unusual flower...

I have came to know them as Philippine lilies, I'm not just pretty sure but it looks like and the way you've described them. Beautiful. Thanks for your comments on my flower photos.

They are wonderful aren't they?! Mine are so loaded with buds that I'm really hoping we don't get an early frost... on the other hand, they love the cool weather>>> L

Your photography made me forget to breathe as I scrolled down - I am ok though. Smiles. So delicate and beautiful.
