Dutchman's Pipe

This year, I looked for the Dutchman's Pipe flowers, and now I understand how I could have missed them the first year I went to the flower show. Last year, they were so obvious!

Supposedly the flowers look like the old style of pipes used in Holland, but to me, they look like hatchling dragons, or aliens.

I love the colour and pattern of the red part of the flower,

but the green part is a bit unsettling.

I saw this photo and thought ... what they heck is that ... had to look at it. I agree that the red part of the plant is very nice.

I'm not familiar with Dutchman's Pipe. It's a very unusual flower.

I'm with you on the alien pod thing. Quite striking though. The patterns in the red portion of the plant are amazing.

Interesting. I like the last shot especialy, but I agree about the green part being unsettling. Deffinitally some sort of alien hatchling
