Sunset

I have been collecting sunsets this week.
Seems like everything else has had the colour
 washed right out of it.

Gloria

I was practising close-ups with Gloria. I am not sure she was impressed.

Bur Cucumber

The bur cucumbers are drying, and showing off their spikes.

Queen Anne's Lace

The Queen Anne's lace is all dried stems and seeds now.
The frost makes them sparkle in the sunlight.

Watery Wednesday

I love the light on this oak leaf caught at the edge of the water.

Barbed Wire

Frost formed on the barbed wire overnight.
Delicate against the breaking dawn.

Coleus Flowers

A couple of my coleus plants are blossoming.
My grandmother taught me to always remove the flower stalks,
but I think she was wrong.
 The flowers are so delicate!

Reflections of Contrails

This morning, I was caught by the reflections of the contrails
 in the morning pond.
I love the way the ripples made the straight lines waver.
At the smaller end of the pond, ice had formed along the edges of the water.

Today's Flowers

My Christmas cactus is blooming
so I took it outside for a photoshoot.

It's A Dog's Life

Jake was fast asleep in the big chair
and I thought it was so funny, the way he had his paws crossed.

Dandelions

There is a whole new crop of dandelions blooming,
 even with the frost
 at nights,
and I have been taking many photos of them.
 For one thing,
 they are bright and cheery;
 for another, in November,
there are not a lot of choices.

Crab Apple Tree

This crab apple tree is still covered
 with its bright red fruit.
