The Geese Are Flying

The geese are not headed south yet; they are still fattening up, and strengthening wing muscles.

Springbank Snow Countess

but I wanted to show what she looks like in an October rain.

Feathers

There were lots of gulls, and geese, so there were a lot of feathers.

Of course, I spent some time 

photographing them,

 on the beaches and in the park.

 

Macro Flowers Saturday

The cosmos in Aunt Elizabeth's garden

 were still blooming.

Mother's Dahlias

It rained all weekend, but I was out looking at the gardens anyway.

 

Wading in Lake Ontario

We found a little beach in Wicklow, Ontario, which is open to the public,

 and husband stayed about 6 feet away from the water

 while I waded through the waves.

 

Wild Asters

Purple asters against a log fence, on Esker Road,

 or against a cloudy sky near Port Perry.

Nasturtiums

Nasturtiums in the garden,

 adding their bright colours to a cloudy day.

Esker Road

We took a side trip along part of Esker Road, just to see what it was like, and found this charming view.

I wonder what it will look like in December, the next time we are going this way...

Skywatch Friday

Friday morning, we had bright sunshine, 

 and a few clouds.

 A perfect background for the autumn colours

surrounding us.

Broken Mirror

On Friday, we stopped at a little yard sale, and I was taking some photos of this broken mirror.

 I debated about buying it, as it was an interesting frame, and after I have seen the photos, I am kicking myself for leaving it behind...

Watery Wednesday

We have been away for a few days. My family had Thanksgiving this past weekend, so I have done a lot of driving, and found many new things to show you. I photographed these reflections at sunset, at a picnic area, on the way home last night.
