Raindrops

One of those rains when the drops 

 cling, rather than fall.

It rained all weekend, but I was out looking at the gardens anyway.

This is the porch at Loucks' Farm where we sheltered from a thundershower. Dogs are not allowed in the buildings.

I got lots of photos of raindrops - on hosta flowers,

falling on the hired man's house and the garden,

and on the apple tree.

Looking across the Ottawa River, watching the sunlight on the clouds, and the rain.

Walking between a couple of heavy rainshowers,

I found a patch of yellow sweet clover.

More Irises, More Rain

These irises are blooming near one of my jobs.

I love the colours,

especially with the raindrops.

Somehow they are more vivid when they are wet.

One rainy morning, we watched the ducks enjoying the flooded creek.

The duck in the foreground is just landing.

You can see how close they are to the ice.
