Still Lifes

I am posting a selection of my still lifes.

I have no idea what the orange thing used to be, but this is what it looks like after a year and more at the bottom of my box of feathers and peony seed pods and such.

I would love your constructive criticism, as I am trying to take more artistic photos.

A friend gave me a couple of pieces of chipped crystal, so I smashed one of them.

The best present anyone has given me this week!!!

I want to try more captures, with a coloured background...

And a slightly tarnished silver heart nestled in some feathers.

Still Life

The weather has been gray and wet, so I have been playing indoors.

I figure the only way to learn to create still lifes

is to start taking the photos,

and see what I come up with. 

I would appreciate any positive comments you make!!

Mrs. Mouse

My Mom took a class in leatherworking, the year before I was born, and she continued with the hobby for many years. She must have made this mouse, with her baby in a walnut shell carrier, about 20 years ago.

Clementines

I have been feeling blah lately, and my photography has been suffering.

But then, I was unloading the groceries, and set the clementines in the sunlight on the stove,

and had to grab my camera...

It was hard to choose my favourite images to share with you...

I did stop to put the ice cream in the freezer, first, though...

Santa Claus

My sister does rug hooking,

but it is so much easier to find places for small projects,

so she made this little Santa for my mother.



Old Negatives

Along with the old photos, I found a bunch of negatives, the 2x3 inch size. I have been debating how to capture them. 

My first thought was to scatter them,

 but I like them better stacked together.

We have had a day and a half of rain,

 so I have been playing

 with still lifes again.

 I delete a lot of photos, but keep some...

Compare these lush August Queen Anne's lace blossoms, 

with the tiny one I found this week,

  which has been mowed half a dozen times over the summer.

Pearls

I'm getting tired of the snow and ice, and starting to play with still lifes. At least I can stay warm...
