Old Photos

I came across this photo of my grandmother and my uncle today, while I was scanning the photos from my Mom's side of the family. I think he was born in 1920. It is not a good image, but I love the expression on her face.

Royal Visit, June 7, 1939

Before WWII, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited Woodstock.

There was a parade, with at least one band of bagpipes.

I am guessing these photos were taken by a cousin of my Mom.

This photo was in the box my father kept his photos in. No one has any idea who the people are, though. That border was put on photos processed approximately 70 years ago.

Grandma and Maud

Maud is the only horse my grandparents owned whose name I know even though I never met her.

She used to be a racehorse, but just because she was retired, she saw no reason to let those nasty horseless carriages pass her when Grandma was driving the kids to school.

My Mom remembers some pretty wild rides...
