Flowering Kale

After the Christmas rain,

there were some ice crsytals

formed on the flowering kale.

I love the way this plant is winterhardy, so we can have some colour in the dark months.

Flowering Kale

At least there are still some colourful things

half hidden in the snow.

This patch of kale will be mush by spring,

but it is pretty now!

Today's Flowers

This is one of the few flowers left after the frost. And it is not really a flower. It is kale or cabbage of some sort that becomes beautiful after the frost. While it is edible, it is very tough, so most people treat it like a flower.
