Railroad Ties

My Mom now lives near the railroad, and I found this pile of ties last time I was visiting her.
The similarities, and the sort of repeating pattern caught my eye.
They stank of creosote, though, so I did not stay long.
I am linking this post with Nature Footstep Digital Art.

I like the series of photos, getting closer and closer with each one. The details in the ends of the ties are so interesting.

Hi Judy, you're kind of late with this link :) If you didn't comment on mine I would've never found out ;)
I like that big pile of ties.
My favourite is #4
I have an awful question: Can I please have that one? I'm sure that would make a real nice overlay structure :) You get something nice in return on the 7th (if I remember right) on Monica's next "festive" meme.

Your digital version of this pile reminds me of some old city ruins. Very clever and creative. Happiest New Year.
