I have finally found out the name of these flowers -
they are Himalayan balsam,
a member of the impatiens family.
They are an annual, but grow to be 6 feet tall.

They are very attractive but extremely invasive, unfortunately! They have escaped gardens because they produce an enormous amount of seeds.
The flowers are very beautiful. I love the way they look against the blue sky.
What beautiful flowers, it is lovely to know the name as well, thanks for finding out.
