Jewelweed
The more common name for jewelweed is spotted touch-me-not, but I like jewelweed better.
This morning, the flowers were covered with dewdrops which caught the morning sun.

Hollyhock and Bumblebee
I was photographing some hollyhocks against the cloudless sky,
when a bumblebee appeared.
And of course,
I had to wait for her to come out again...

Gone to Market Part 2
Have you ever looked at lettuce?
Really looked at it?
And how is it different from kale?

Gone to Market, Part 1
I went to the Ottawa Farmers' Market on Sunday,
and it is so much larger than the markets around home!!
I started taking photos of the kale,
and the other produce.
Beans, and beets,
corn, and peppers,
two kinds of them,
and cherry tomatoes!
And I barely touched the surface of all the produce!!!

Borage
The borage is growing around the front lawn this year, so I was crawling around, capturing the blossoms against the sky.
I love the way the light comes through the petals, and catches the tiny hairs...

Blue Vervain
While the blue vervain plants are a couple of feet tall, the flowers themselves are tiny, about an eighth of an inch across.
In past years, I have only found one or two plants,
but this year, there have to be about 50!
Most of them in a cow pasture, but the cows don't eat them...

Abstract
I captured this image in my Dad's garage, after he passed. I like the character of the metal.

Jake
Jake passed suddenly, and I am having a rough time of it.
But now he can run, and his legs work properly, so it is best this way. Annie would try and keep up to him, but never managed it.
If a cat can sleep in a laundry basket, then so can a whippet. Clean laundry preferred...
I always laughed to see him shake. His front legs always left the ground.
And after a hard day's run, you always need to have a good nap...

Little Green Apples
The apple blossoms are fading memories,
but now the trees are covered with little green apples.

Orange Mullein
At the college gardens, I found a lovely plant called orange mullein.
The bees loved it.
It had so many more blossoms on each stalk than regular mullein.

Black Eyed Susans
The black eyed susans are blooming,
and I was out capturing them,
before the dew was dry yesterday.
Why is the season so short
for so many of the most wonderful flowers?
