Blue False Indigo

I love this plant from the college gardens. 

 I tried capturing it when I had the little point and shoot,

 but the flowers are too small for it.

 So glad I have my new camera!!

Foxtail Lily

This is such an interesting plant.

 I love the way the blossoms

 climb up the stalk

 as they open.

 

Iris

Rather than showing you each type of iris,

 I am choosing the best of the lot.

 If you want the names, let me know...

 

Peonies

The early peonies are in bloom already,

 some at the college,

 and others in my own garden.

 They are so welcome!

 

Gentian

The gentian flowers

 at the college gardens

 only lasted a week,

but the colour is worth it!

 

New Crops

The new crops are springing

 from the soil.

Reflections

While I was at the Hay Bay Church, I noticed 

 the reflections in the windows facing the water.

 

Skywatch Friday

We spotted a couple of osprey sitting in a big dead tree, but they were not happy about my getting out of the car to try and capture them.

Hay Bay Church

 The Hay Bay Church is on the shore of the Bay of Quinte.

We stopped and had a look around.

 We couldn't go inside,

 but we could walk all the way around the building

 and ending up at the front again.

There was a small cemetery across the road.

Burdock Leaf

I caught a glimpse of the sun streaming through this burdock leaf, and had to crawl under a spruce tree to capture it.

I love the pattern in the veins of the leaf.

 

Bleeding Heart

I stopped at the college, and caught up with what's blooming.

 This bleeding heart is the variety Goldheart,

 likely because of the pale colour of the leaves.

 

Today's Flowers

I stopped at the gardens at the college after work on Thursday,

and I was simply overwhelmed by the light 

 coming through the orange tulips!
