At Algonquin College, there were only two peonies labeled as doubles. The darker one is Sam Donaldson,
and poor Bess Bockstoce was over and done with. The heat last week took a terrible toll on the peonies.

I really like that bottom shot for some reason ... a carpet of spent blossoms ...
I do love the piles of fallen petals when the blooms begin to wilt, even if it is a little sad to see them go
