Tiny Pink Flowers

I don't know what these pretty flowers are, so if anyone can identify them, please let me know...
The plant is 10 to 12 inches tall, and the flowers are about half an inch. The leaves are sort of strap-like.
I doubt I would have noticed it if the flowers had not been blooming, in amongst the grasses and weeds.

Mandevilla

My sister gave my mother a mandevilla plant.
It spent the summer outside, and this blossom came out and lasted all the days I was there.
The plant and the arbour it is climbing will have to be brought indoors this week, before the frost.

Macro Flowers Saturday

I've had a bad week, so have gone back to May for these pink flowers. Thanks to the gentle readers who identified the Himalayn balsam in the previous post, and if you want to see more close-ups of flowers, click the icon to the right.

Himalayan Balsam

I have never found out the name for this flower,
but it grows all along one of the streams
 that flow through Kanata.
I love the way the sun flows through the petals!

Spring Beauties

Honest! That is the name of these flowers! I know they are, but it is such a boring name!

This is another species I have not seen in 40 years, and I love these tiny flowers!

And I do mean tiny - they are smaller than violets!

Old Man's Whiskers

One of my houseplants bloomed. The only name I have for it is old man's whiskers. If you look at the leaves, you can see why.

The flowers are about half an inch across, and only last a couple of days.

Begonia Flowers

My begonia is blossoming as well.

The flowers really do have a sparkle to them!

Ptilotus exaltatus

Thanks to the seed catalogue,

these flowers have a name now.

Not an easy one to pronounce,

but something more specific than pink flowers. I have a lot of pink flowers in my archives!

Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate

In August, I found these flowers, but had no idea what they were.

The seed catalogue arrived this past week, and they are buckwheat, Polygonum orientale, or the old fashioned Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate.

I am going to have to get myself a packet of the seeds, for planting in the spring!

Pink Flowers

I have no idea what sort of flowers these are,

but they line the banks of the tributary to the Carp River.

They have likely been planted here.

But they are beautiful!

Bindweed

Bindweed is a member of the morning glory family. Someone is letting it grow in their garden, but mostly it grows in the fields.
