Remember the ptilotus blossoms 

 I posted earlier in the summer?

 This is what they look like 

 in early summer.

Continuing my collection of odd looking flowers

 from the gardens at the college,

 I present the ptilotus.

 How can you resist anything that is pink

 and fluffy?

Thanks to the seed catalogue,

these flowers have a name now.

Not an easy one to pronounce,

but something more specific than pink flowers. I have a lot of pink flowers in my archives!
