Mallow

I have a lot of mallow plants in my garden,

and this is one of the bits that are above the snow.

I spent a few minutes in the garden,

 seeing what had poked its head above ground.

 There are lots of tiny leaves,

 reaching for the sun.

The delicate flowers of the mallow

 have started to bloom,

 in time for the rain.

The mallow plants in my garden are still producing blossoms.

 I do not remember a year when the first frost has been this late.
