Walking Sentinels

I am still fascinated by hydro towers. While I was in Woodstock, I was able to stand directly beneath one, and capture these views.
Sure, I would have preferred a sunny day, but you take what you can get...

Catching the Light

This is a post about sunrise,
but I am not looking at the sunrise itself.
 A couple of years ago,
I noticed the way the rising sun
caught the hydro wires and towers,
and I have finally managed to capture that.
It is a fleeting thing
so I have to get the three of us to the towers
in time to capture it before it fades.
Nature Footstep has included catching the light into her Monday Inspiring Photos.

Skywatch Friday

I have been studying the walking sentinels again.
I like the repeating patterns of the towers.
And I have been playing with the resulting captures, too. This one is called Swirl, and I love the twisted pieces of the tower.

Skywatch Friday

It has been a wonderful week
for sunrises,

 not just the colours
 in the sky,
 but the reflected light
 on the walking sentinels
 and the trees.
