Sunset with Crows

We do have other birds than geese. Morning and evening, there are large flocks of both crows and gulls overhead.

Tracks in the Snow

Early morning, and the tracks of a large bird, possibly a pheasant. I like to think there are pheasants around here. And the rare tracks of the dreaded purple loosestrife!

These tracks were made by a predator, judging by the distance I could follow them, circling, and checking every large clump of grass.

The leash gives you an idea of the size of the prints.

And on the way home, both leashes were attached to dogs, so I used a glove to show scale. There were crows on the other side of the ditch, not too far from these.

Footprints in the Snow

Winter has started, so I have been looking at footprints. Sometimes, I even photograph them before the noses come along to check things out. The rabbit above, and the mouse below are good examples. The mouse trail, from one burrow to the other, was almost trampled before I captured it.

I am guessing this is a cat, partly from the location.

Same area, but I am not sure if this is a crow or a gull. Could be either.

But I am sure these are goose footprints. Partly from the waddle, and partly the location.

Footprints in the Snow

Annie's hair makes her prints indistinct. Jake's are much clearer.

The crow was walking across the road.

But we never saw the cat or the rabbit.
