Asparagus

Today was the first day of farmer's market,
and doesn't the fresh asparagus look delicious!!!
Guess what the dogs and I had for dinner!!
Silly husband doesn't know what he is missing!!
The dogs get the bottoms of the stalks...

Bench

This bench at the Carp Market
 is a fun new addition.
It was too cold for me
to see how comfortable the seats were...

Carp Fairgrounds and Market

Saturday, we went to the Carp Christmas Market, held at the Carp Fairgrounds,
and I took a few photos
 of the buildings.
It looks as though they just slap on another
coat of paint every few years.

Carp Farmer's Market

Fall is a great time for produce at the Market.

Peppers of various colours, and tomatoes,

beets with their greens, and purples,

radishes in rainbow hues,

and carrots! I have to get multicoloured carrots for Thanksgiving dinner!

Carp Farmer's Market

One of the farmers brought a trailer of animals to the Market. These chocolate Moscovy ducks and turkeys likely do not have much longer to live, with Thanksgiving less than a week away.

The sheep has a much longer life span.

Gladiolas

One of the vendors at the Carp Farmers Market

had a few glads left.

Reminders of summer gone...

Carp Farmer's Market

Maple syrup butter tarts do not last any length of time, unfortunately. They are just too tasty!

Carp Farmer's Market

The young women at this booth bake small cakes with the best quality ingredients, and decorate every one differently. I took these photos through the glass of the display case.

Carp Farmer's Market

Eggplants and squash blossoms. You gently open the blossoms and stuff them, like peppers.

The fall crop of starwberries are so tempting...

A purple cauliflower, to add colour to your daily veggies.

Peppers come in many colours.

Cherry tomatoes and redskin potatoes.

Ginger gold apples, and some crabapples.

And the Paula Red apples that I set out to find.
